A Major Change for IFTS: Membership Now Required
On 7 October 2025, the IFTS Board of Directors adopted a structural decision that will fundamentally reshape both our organisation and our economic model.
What’s Changing?
- From now on, any order for services (testing, expert assessments, etc.) or equipment (test benches, pilot units, etc.) will require the requester to be a member of the association for the current year.
- The membership fee schedule has been revised to remain accessible and fair.
- Access to IFTS resources is now conditional and reserved exclusively for members.
Why This Change?
This is not a simple administrative adjustment.
It addresses several key challenges:
1
Reinforcing Our Associative Spirit
- IFTS is built on a cooperative model developed over nearly 45 years.
- Membership ensures that those who benefit from our expertise also contribute to sustaining and strengthening this dynamic.
2
Securing Our Economic Model
Public funding is under increasing pressure.
Membership provides a stable, predictable financial base, allowing us to:
- Maintain high investment in equipment
- Guarantee scientific quality recognised nationally and internationally
3
Strengthening Community Ties
Membership offers more than access to services:
- Participate in working groups
- Influence future technical directions
- Benefit from privileged information
- Join a network of committed stakeholders
4
Ensuring Fairness and Clarity
- Until now, some users accessed resources without contributing.
- Mandatory membership restores coherence and equitable sharing of responsibilities.
What Does This Mean for You?
- Immediate effect for new customers
- From 1 January 2026 for existing clients who are not yet members
Looking Ahead
This transition marks an important milestone for IFTS. It will enable us to:
- Approach the coming years with a stronger, clearer model
- Stay true to the collective spirit that inspired our creation
- Continue our mission: advancing filtration and separation technologies
