Characterization

The choice and performance of the Solid Liquid Separation process is directly dependent upon the characteristics, in particular the size and concentration, of particles to separate. IFTS is the centre of expertise in particle-size analysis and particle counting, whether they are in powder form or suspended in liquids.

 

We possess the broadest array of techniques and apparatuses to determine particle diameter, or equivalent, best adapted to their use: speed of sedimentation, in volume by conductivity, the surface projected by light absorption, and greater dimension by microscopy, laser diffraction, etc.

 

The results are adapted to the customer requirements: particle size distribution in differential or cumulated mode and its parameters (average, median, standard deviation), number of particles according to size per unit of volume of liquid (USP), contamination class or code of fluids (NF, ISO…)..
