Wear and tear of component tests

  • Reliability, longevity and performance of all active components in circuits for fluids are directly affected by the presence of particles suspended in the fluid. Wear of components is due, on the one hand, to the severity of working conditions (pressure, flow rate, temperature, frequency, duration…) and, on the other, to the characteristics of the particles (nature, form, hardness, size, number…). Filters have to maintain levels of particulate contamination in the fluid below those which can have an impact on the most sensitive components in an hydraulic system, whatever its complexity: hydraulic fluid power systems, combustion circuits, lubrication modules, etc…
  • IFTS has the tools and expertise to determine the maximum contamination levels acceptable for each type of component.
    • Test benches for measuring wear in pumps, valve regulators, distributors, etc.
    • All operating variables: Flow rates from 0 to 100 L/min, Pressures from 0 to 400 bar, Frequency from 0 to 10 Hz, Temperature from – 20 to + 180°C.
    • Standard fluids or those specified by the client.
    • Particulate contaminants of any standard nature (MIL E 5007E, ISO TD, silica powder, metal-oxide, carbon…) or specified by client.
    • Tests for all sizes and all concentrations (from a few particles of a few millimetres to several grams per litre of contaminants of a few microns).
    • Record of the following parameters: speed of rotation, power consummation, flow rate or pressure generated, response time, etc.
