Particle size analysis of powders and particles in suspension
- IFTS possesses a whole range of instruments and analysis methods:
Laser diffraction particle size analyser (CILAS 1180L) - Microscopes and image analysers (MICROVISION/FILTREX)
- Electroformed sieves and microsieves
- Light extinction particle counters
- Light scattering particle counters
- Andreasen pipette
- Sedimentation columns
- Consequently, IFTS has the means to study and measure:
- All types of particles
- All sizes from 0.04 to 5000 µm
- All shapes: needles, fibres, swarf/shavings, precipitates, balls…
- IFTS measures all physical characteristics of powders and other granular filtering media: permeability, velocity of fluidization, porosity, brittleness, cleanliness, and resistance to attrition.
- IFTS also evaluates all particulate contamination in fluids, parts or clogged filters
- IFTS is COFRAC accredited according to ISO 17025 and FDA approved in accordance with USP27
